wow incredible color and details, my only comment would be maybe its lacking focal point/interest such as maybe some smoking fires up top somewhere to suggest somethings actually happening in the image rather then it just being a stationary and uneventful, otherwise i quite like it alot ;D good job

I love this too- I'd like to explore somewhere like this if I could. I like the way the orange colours are more intense towards the top of the city.
Good work:thumbsup:

Great painting! I love the enormous sense of scale and antiquity. The colour palette is great too - it's really moody and evocative.

Plugged on the front page for you.

Awesome and beautiful construction/architecture... I really love the atmosphere...
How many times did you spend on it ?
And there's just one another thing i've got in mind... i imagine and i would really like to see the interior of your piece... what kind of world can we see into... ? the streets, corridors, etc...

Outstanding image. It shows how huge that castle is. Great work and 5 stars earned.

10-27-2005, 01:37 AM
Indeed,i forgot to complement the precision of the castle textures on the right side, they look so spot on,i can really see the details with aboslute clarity even from the final camera distance and angle from that area.
this deserves an award,really.
congrats.
6 stars!

awesome, at frst i thought there was some 3d in here; your atmosphere and depth is very convincing. Is this ALL painted or is there an element of mattepainting in this?

Hello there!

WOW! Thank you! I didn't think that I get so many flattered compliments on my work. It's my debut in the CGTalk Gallery! Thanks so much for your advice and comments! Unfortunately, I can't say how many hours I did this work! I returned to it many times so as to change something. Now I think it's a final version. :) Thanks again!

There aren't real-existing buildings and subjects here. But I've used a 3D blank so as to reach the right lighting. Thanks!

Brilliant work! It has its own mood and nice details. The only crit from me is that it's a little bit monotonous. Maybe there could be some highlights here and there.

Ну а в остальном, классно исполнено! :) Ну и "фронтпэйдж" конечно стоит отпраздновать

but , how did you do the clouds?

I had many different variants of the sky in the process of work. One photo of my collection inspired me to paint this variant. I did it with the 'cloud' brush from 'Textured Brushes'. Thank you!

It's a beautiful piece and maybe it's just me - but the perspective seems a little 'off ' between the top and bottom of the structure.

Hello!

Thank you very much for your comments! I'd like to clarify something about the perspective. I've done mistakes in constructions of the three towers. They are on the cliff which are down below. And I did it intentionally. I liked to see them look exactly like this. http://forums.cgsociety.org/images/icons/icon7.gif Excuse me for my English!

Lovelly stuff here!
I had to search and search to find something negative to say otherwise it would be just one more compliment:).

Everything is the same size.
All your details have a similar weight. While this is good for harmony it can flatten out the visual drama a bit.

Like I said really great stuff!
