Title: 3d Busts
Name: Jussi Kemppainen
Country: Finland
Software: LightWave 3D, Photoshop, ZBrush
4 busts created for a magazine.
Basic modeling done in Lightwave, details added in Zbrush and the renders touched up in Photoshop.
The hardest part in this assignment was that the busts needed to look like actual people.
As can be expected, I am not allowed to post photos of the real people here.
I had practically no time to finish this task, so each head is finished from 0% to final in approx 6 hours or less.

Wow. That is amazing.
Well defined lines and an excellent grasp of form. I had to look twice and make sure that was CG.
My hat goes off to you.

These are awesom especially considering the
time you needed to complete them.
I just have one crit. Imho there should be
ceases in the busts where the hair begins.
But considering the given time maybe it
had been impossible to refine the hair.

The one in the top right looks like JFK but I can't recognise the others, are they meant to be actual people and if so who?
They are just some people. Finnish and non-famous.
Yes, I was supposed to create detailed hair for them, but in the time given, it was impossible.

Dude, they look superb! Would be good enough that you have achieved in making them look like actual people that have been sculpted from stone, but to know that you did them in around six hours is incredible!

6hours on each is pretty good going mate. i agree on the hair line though. anyway that said good work. would you consider spending more time on them now the project is finished ?

Honestly said, no. Not yet anyways. It was mentally too hard: I had only max 6 hours per head and I had to nail the features of each person on the first go. I am just glad it is over!
Maybe in the future I'll finish them as a zbrush exercize. That app I need to learn.

awesome work man.
Can you show us the wireframes??
thank you very much.
What can I say, thanks again for liking these. I was a bit sceptical wether people would actually like these heads, but I am glad I was wrong!
Here is the wires for all 4 models>

For some reason, I found it easier to remodel everything, instead of using one model as a base from what to work. These wireframes are the bases I created in lightWave. Some minor details have been later on added in zbrush (moustach, wrinkles)
If you have any connets & questions, fel free to ask and I will answer If I can.

you've got some speed man! 6 hours for a head?!
I hope you used some sort of a "templates" with basic forms already cut out in them for each head. If not, then its a sipmple  from me!
No, didn't use templates. Only thing I duplicated is the ear, but as you can see, I dramatically remodeled it to suit every head. (people have very weird and different ears!)
