Oh how could I have missed this?

Lucasfilm and MBNA America bring you the first Star Wars - themed credit cards. Coming in two designs - Yoda or Darth Vader - these cards also earn points toward Star Wars merchandise, entertainment rewards and gift certificates.

With the "Galactic Rewards" program, each dollar spent using a Star Wars credit card earns one reward point redeemable online starting early next year toward such items as...

- unique and hard-to-acquire Star Wars merchandise
- popular selections from the line of Star Wars books, movies, music, action figures, toys, video games and more
- gift certificates from such national retailers as AMC Movie Theaters and Blockbuster Video or such restaurants as Red Lobster and Outback Steakhouse
- brand-name merchandise from Foot Locker, Sony, and Titleist

Additionally, Star Wars credit card customers will have unlimited access to a secure MBNA/Star Wars website where they can check their point balance, browse through a rewards catalogue, redeem points for rewards, and take advantage of special offers and benefits.

Whopeee!

If we get them, do we also get hyperspace parsecs for our next trip to Endor? lol

What about if we get the card we could earn points for a pass to a sneak preview of the movie the day BEFORE everyone else watches it? heh

That would be nice to walk by those people that have been camping there for months... "Oh, excuse me.. I'm going to watch Episode 3 now. you'll just have to wait another 24hours to watch it like the rest of the world." *hideous Emperor laugh*

This is indeed is a sick marketing move, but from their perspective is soo smart, the Big Star Wars fans will who have a ctredit card will mostlikey want to get one, not thinking about interest rates, they just want a credit card with Darth Vador and/or Yoda on the front. I like Star Wars but I think having it on your credit card is going a little bit too far.

Now if it was Spidey. . .

:D
