View Full Version : AMD 2800+ is now available
MadMax 11-15-2002, 04:52 AM To Greg and others interested, the AMD 2800+ is available as of this morning.
So there are NO paper products from AMD at this time.
Every announced launch is available for all to buy.

MadMax, where can you buy it from in L.A? Can you perhaps show me to a good address that asks for reasonable prices?

They appeared on Newegg this afternoon as in stock, limit one per customer.
Also you might try mwave which is in City of Industry.
Thanks I just ordered from Newegg!

Well slap my ass and call me wrong :).
Remind me to smack the head of some of my sources next I see them :).
Thanks for the info Max as always.
Hopefully I'll be getting some of the upcoming 2400+ MP's (Dec supposedly) to test against the new Xeon system. If you run any lightwave tests Max, could you point out which scenes and such? I'd love to run the same tests on the systems I have to test.

I worry that the sheer techno-geek bliss of possesing such a setup would kill you Greg :p

I'm already planning on taking off a few days from work just to deal with all the system benching. It's gonna take forever, not even mentioning the time spent writing up reviews. Ug.
Plus I've still got to convince Alias and Newtek to float over some NFR's for testing. Those demo's don't render at a high enough res for decent benchmarking. I'll probably get everything online after its all obsolete.

Well I am pretty sure that Proton in the lightwave forum works for newtek, if not he sure has some inside scoop. I am thinking that there was someone else to but I cant seem to find them right off hand. I would suggest checking the program forums, someone in there has to know someone, you know how it goes.
Well off to work.
P.S. I envy you, taking off a couple of days from work so you can build a dream machine.... oh wait i just did that. Nevermind.
Hi,
William "Proton" Vaughn works for Newtek as a Lightwave evangelist. Proton is a nice guy, and often more available than the rest of his Newtek colleagues. I think he'll help you out.
