"
According to Gaming Horizon (http://news.gaminghorizon.com/media2/1129859460.2620.html), Nintendo have unofficially revealed a DS version of popular Super Nintendo game Mario Paint will be released sometime during the second half of next year (tying in with Revolution's launch?).

Painting, animation, and music functions will be included in the game, possibly implemented together or separated into three versions like the Nintendogs series.

"The new Mario Paint will be a community-building game and users will be able to share their creations with other DS users and Revolution users." Wi-Fi Connection support seems guaranteed, as does a Revolution version of the game, which will apparently offer 3D modeling capabilities."

DUDES CMON! 3d modelling while your on the move?? i was never gonna buy a new handheld, cos iv already got a sony clié, but THIS has guaranteed another sale of a DS from me....

3d modelling on the go man! im already excited... i can make low poly chars on the train, or while im at the park, or on breaks at work!! haha!!!

EDIT: aah damn. just read it again and seems a lil unclear on wether the modelling will only be for the revolution.. if so thats pretty useless....

Never came out. It was planned for the N64 disk drive, along with the Zelda expansion, but was shelved when after some time. It did look kinda nifty though.

I have a clie' and a ds and a tablet pc, boy i must really be in love with touch screen technology...

I think it is totaly possible for them to make a basic 3d modeler for the ds, they alredy had this tech demo early on in the ds history for a carving type game, to show of how the stylus would interact with a 3d object, can you imagine a more refined version of that? whooa. I would love to see a world were everybody can have the basic knowledge of 3d modeling.
videos of the software can be seen here.

Exactly dude

hey laurito, i dnt think ull rmeba me, i used to be FlyByNight till they kicked me out... I was the guy who was asking if youd been rude and thats why they wouldnt let your old ID post replies.... anyway, iv always liked ur posts and respect ur opinions

cheers for the info dude, i agree with you completely... modelling should not be for high end pc users... the concept can be understood by all, and hopefully in the future it will be :)
WOOOW, jus watched that carving vid!! thats BRILLIANT!! that is so cleber, and must be soo satisfying... Nintendo DS is so much more innovative than the PSP.. psp is just brain dead gaming for the masses... DS is for people who are evolving.... thanks for that link.. i want it :(

Thanx mate nice to be appreciated .

Yea i think the ds has allot of potential for those with creative minds, it really does, can you imagine a basic toon animation thingy on it? or a version of rpg maker? the interface is perfect, but i think the problem is that the masses shy away from creativity and would much rather play a mindless game.

ill take that as a no then  we had loads of convos, but i cant remba which id i was on :-s bloody strict cgtalk... im contraversial what can i say....

im not tooo sure on those features you mentioned... im wondering maybe they have a better place on PC than a handheld... could be real fiddly doing it, and maybe needs more cocentration that a handheld receives... but i guess that all down to good GUI and programming. I hear the direction your coming from though... i reeeeally want a portable 3d modeller though  would love one for the clie....

Ha dont worry bro i remember u , this was at the time i was unable to post under lastchild7 for some odd reason. who knows what happend there. The closest i have got to a 3d modler on the go is my tablet pc, i think it was a really good purchase, i dont use it much for modeling though, mainly for concept art, however i have a version of maya ple on it so that i can just practice when i feel the need.

The old ign64 archive also has some information videos and images. From the mario artist 64dd series.

Polygon artist:

Talent Studio: could make lil movies with characters on this one

http://ign64.ign.com/objects/010/010085.html

Sound Studio:

http://ign64.ign.com/objects/010/010084.html although the ds already has a few music apps.

Paint Studio: http://ign64.ign.com/objects/001/001908.html

This would be perfect for the ds stylus.

We can only hope they remember some of these titles and create more killer apps for the ds
