I will pay royalties for high-quality artwork.

And I mean high-quality :) It needs to look great, bottom line. Finished art is best, but *very nice* WIP's might be candidates.

I know a lot of you guys have a lot of great stuff sitting around in piles, why not get some money and name recognition out of it?

All copyrights will be retained by you. All types of images wanted. The files will need to be print quality. This means hi-res.

Traditional as well as digital art acceptable. If it's traditional, you scan it. I need game art as well. If you have some nice realtime stuff that can be rendered in hi-res, or screen-capped from a game engine at a very high resolution, that's perfect. Do you draw superhero-type action stuff? perfect as well.

can you tell us what you intend to use them for, as this will have a substantial effect on the cost of royalties?

you're being decidedly vague about this, which is a bit suspicious to say the least.
if you can tell us exactly what the artwork will be used for, what it's distribution will be, how it will be reproduced and in what quantity, and exactly how much you are willing to pay, then maybe you will get more responses.

I've had plenty of responses. Basically we're talking prints here.

I'm bound by legal crap too, so I can't divulge except to potential artists.

well sh!t...in that case why dosn't everyone give me the high quality art work they spent hours upon hours making...

1. I'll print it on stuff.
2. sell it.
3. make a crap load of money off it.
4. and through you a few pennies for royalties.

sounds like you want the use of others art work for slave prices if you ask me.

I HAVE AN IDEA,WHY DONT YOU PAY FOR OUR ART WORK!!!

Stay cool, nicklehead, it is a good concept, a smart idea. If it works, also the illustrators will earn some money. If not, you still keep the rights. Ian just wanted some artwork from yours archive, nonprofitable artwork, old artwork, whers the problem.
