I know it's suppossed to be a caricature, but I liked the way your friend "sketched you out", you might want to keep his style a bit more. And even though they're not yours, you could post some of those sketches I'm talking about, the ones you have in your website.

That is totally awesome! I love those cute lil feet. The tree has some sweet style to it. It would be damn sweet to see him textured the way you painted the 2d.

Ok, I hate to be this annoying but I gotta throw it in there. While I think the modeling and everything is awesome there is one part I gotta comment on.

Owl's talons are not so much like you modeled them. Those are more the talons of a hawk or an eagle. An owl's talons are set two in the front and two in the back. Sooo, I know that's nitpicky as heck but I just had to do it.

Since your kinde diverting from the caricature sketch, maybe some big feathers would look nice on it aswell.

holy cow ila that looks fantastic!I LOVE THE FEET! that is really a great character. i love the entire look of it, i cant see anything wrong, but if i was to be picky(which i am) i would work out the rest of the body more to fit the look of the front. I mean like the back feathers and all. to me there seems to be a lot of things going on from the front, yet behind the head and on the back it just seems too plain compared to the kickass front. another great piece of work ila:)

Well I just wanted to come in and say I think this creation is wonderful. It really does have a resemblance to you ila.....If you were an owl that is.....;)

It has a very in-depth look. I agree with Tubby,it does need a little more attention around the edges.The back and sides for examples.But I know you have this planned ila.

Great idea, 2D sketch and modelling. To be honest the lips could be worked on more, they do not look as alive as the other parts of your model. :)

crit: You are modeling organic toon in a somehow technical
way, split polys more, brake it up, make it look less industrial
and more organic..

Hi ila................I am quite busy with finishing touches on my last challenge entry,texturing and getting some hi-rez shots from all the seperate models, getting them all perfect for my growing portfolio.......Plus I am still quite busy with my gigantic private project,it's getting there little by little,soon I can show some of it, I hope....;) But next challenge is already pulling at me strongly,I will leave this one to you and the other guys here.I sure hate to miss out on all the fun...........:)

I am very happy to hear about the wings and head's hair/feathers & tail you plan on...................It's already top notch,with those additions it really will be fun to see. So I'll see you after your next up-date ila.............Keep them coming....:beer:

Looks great so far!
Very good modeling.

Two things I could suggest:

1.) I think you should get rid of those first 3 rows of small feathers on the chin, and make it into just 1 or 2 rows of larger feathers, so they fit into the mesh better.

2.) Add those feather things to the eyebrows!

Cant wait to see the final product.

There's nothing I can add here.
Concept, modelling, lighting are great.

The only thing I would say (just to piss you off a bit actually :)) is that in my opinion, there's too much of an owl and too less of a toon character in your Living Toon.

...I mean, I wish your character was a bit more Ila Soleimani-shaped... at least the face.

...maybe what happens here is that yours is probably the most original concept, and I just find it different.

...or maybe Ila Soleimani is actually an owl..

Anyway, just to piss you off a bit, as I said, because this is one of my favorites.

hmm.
man read through all the posts and there all critquing as really good.
hmm, guess i should give some of my comments about it that are negative
lol
on the left little eye brow thing, the light goes completely to white, that really ruins the image imho, cause pure white in a dark scene is a big no no.

and right below the pure white you have the darkest darks, looks a bit odd.
the eyes look a bit strange as well, cause he's not really looking at one thing, almost like he's got a lazy eye. looses the feeling that it's 'haunting' and it's fixating on something.

and on the right of the owls nose, the 2nd to last wing, the little crease looks kinda messed up cause the bump map you have interferres with it (the crease).

and then you have lighting from the back of the character as well, and the light is kinda of yellowish/organge and the front looks more moon light lit (he's getting big shine from both sides)
just odd.
i dunno, i feel like there's to much darkest darks right next to really bright colors.

just some friendly crisiticism. please don't take it personal or somethin
