Title: A Dear Friend
Name: Stefan Fuchs
Country: Germany
Software: Painter, Photoshop

Hi,

this is a portrait of a friend of mine. a present in poster-size.
I used a photo reference I took myself in the beginning. I left parts out, because I think it's more interesting to have something to imagine. I also didn't blend everything to death, because it's painted an not a 3D model.
She's a bit naive but a lovely and warm person. Hopefully this comes through in the painting.
Maybe someone's got a comment that would make it better.

Thanks for viewing.

This is really nice but I really long to see the other hand finished. I understand about leaving some parts unfinished but since this hand covers part of the totally rendered beautiful face it is very distracting from the quality of the piece. At very least do the hand but not the arm (although I'd prefer at least half the arm done too.

You've got skill, no doubt about that.

@LS Knight
thanx at first.
i don't think that it distracts at all. I thought about your critique and I see things this way: the arm and the hand cut through the finished object, giving it even more expression. And the unfinished part nearly points at the face, which is the most important part, of course. (I hope my english is readable ... it's been sleeping a long time :) )

I really like this piece, you have captured a real sense of life and feeling. I like how it is unfinished aswell, gives an idea of your procedure. Great Work!
Cheers, Phibber.
