Title: People's Robot
Name: Philippe Chehab
Country: France
Software: (Other)

A tribute to the Chinese Poster art of the 60's of which I am very fond.

I wanted to imagine what a Poster of this era portraying a Giant National Hero robot would be like, as if it was a forgotten poster found after 40 years.

I wanted also to portray the confidence, pride and joy that soothes from this kind of art ( with humor ).

Mostly done in Artrage, color correction and effects in Photoshop.

Hi, and thanks for your comment.

Yes I agree it looks more like a Japanese Helm than a chinese one, I think it's because of the two scythes, facing one another....

This is a cool concept.... I like the thick paint textures you achieved in the clouds especially. I was surprised that you did most of this in Artrage. I've never been able to do much of anything beyond just sketching with it. As a suggestion, the central figure in the group of people beneath the robot looks too big compared to the rest of the group. You might want to double check the proportions.

Very creative work!

Thanks Autieri for your comment :)

The thick paint effect I did with the oil paint tool, maximum pressure autoclean. I think that the less you have paint strokes, the less colors mix and the more the paint texture stands out.

I agree with the proportions issue, I guess I focused much more on the robot than the characters ( a mistake ), and I realise that not only the central figure must be painted with attention, the surroundings are as important for the final piece.

Hep JJack nice to see you here :buttrock:

nope, but you know what it is, sometimes you just lack the motivation, so in the meantime I
