View Full Version : Importing poser models into 3ds

First of all, I'd like to say hello to everyone. I've read hundreds of posts/tutorials on here, but this is my first post.

I have 3ds 5.1 and poser 6. I create heads in poser 6 and export as .3ds. I then import in 3ds.
I apply the texture (which is also made in poser) to the mesh and everything looks beautiful, both model and texture appear as they did in poser. Now the bad part, when I rotate the mesh, on the very back of the model is a slim area where the texture is distorted. Its only one polygon wide but is runs the height of model. It's odd because everything else lines up so perfectly. I tried a few other models, clothes and props, and they all ended up the same way.
I can do uvw mapping and refit the texture, but this takes me awhile and I can never get it to fit as perfect as it did originally. Anyone else come across this issue or have some advise?

Thanks

Hi! and welcome to CGTalk. I'm not that familiar with poser, but I would check that all of the vertices where this problem is are welded together, and that the have smoothing properly applied. If doesn't solve the problem then I think you will need to remap them as you've tried already.

Cheers,

Josh.
