There are a few of us, whom - long before we went into 3D - scratch-built practical models and miniatures for film & TV commercials. I've gotten a fair amount of letters from students asking about this art. So I started a forum regarding scratch-building (http://danielmcmillan.com/folio/miniatures/daniel-mcmillan-miniatures.htm) (from drawing board to studio).

I would like to suggest that CG Talks have a category about practical Camera ready Model-building. After all, it is the foundation of 3D model-building & FX.

Wow Daniel: cool stuff! :scream:

And about your suggestion... Yeah... I think it might be véry cool to have some modelmaking/practical-stuff forum! That stuff is always so interesting and effective; just very inspiring! :)

I agree! Come on with that new forum! ;)

Thanks Dutchman. It has begun!!! See:

The next phase (which I am working on a little each day) will be a full-blown artist community for scratch builders around the world.
