View Full Version : Character : Orc [ish]
Faraguay 11-14-2002, 12:24 PM Maybe you already met with him at the WIP forum... Actually I'm bored of it and I've decided to let it be.
Software used:
- 3dstudio max4 (poly modeling)
- photoshop7 (textures hand painted with wacom)
- final render v1 with HDRI bitmap and 2 omni lights.
I'd appreciate some comments about it...
Thanks.

I love it. The slobber around the mouth is a great touch. Reminds me of my kids when the eat pancakes with too much syrup.

Hey thanks for your comments! It seems that people over here isn't interested in orcs at all...
Anyway, I'm glad to see that someone is attracted by my work...
Opeth: No, I haven't made any morph targets for this one...sorry.
If anyone's interested on how the mesh is or how it looked like in some old renders:

the only thing I see wrong with it is that the bottom lip (for the facial build) needs to protrude a little more.... awesome though

Very nice work. If I can say something I would give him some earrings in nostrils or midlle of a chick. And meaby darken a scar. I think texture has the same tone of color over entire body here, you could give some variation to it. But this is not a crit, it`s rather advice to make it look even better. In true - it rocks. I like that kind of design....:buttrock:

wow! How many replies...:) Thanks for your nice and constructive comments.
.overflowed: Man, you just wont trust me: I've just decclined a really tempting offer from McDonnald's... I'm not sure If I have done right.:p
Jones_Stork: I totally agree with you. Earrings should be fine for this handsome guy... And diffuse map isn't almost worked... You're right again, it should have more tone variations. I'll keep it in mind for the next one. Thanks a lot, man.
Rukuwa: :D That, I wouldn't mind at all... It'd be great  .
Thanks a million for your replies (again... ).
More, please!

Very nice!
Reminds me of LOTR orcs. This character has a lot of expression, which is something that is very lacking when people make characters.
Does he have a body yet?

the ligth look beter than old images, in dayligth is more inquietante. I like the brigth skin, its more strange and give he a look more agresive. I think that you can make some experiment whith hair, small and dispersed. Is true that the bump of scars is un poco cutre, but its only retouch and retouch.
If you have a new proyect metele caña.

Thanks everybody for your nice comments.
dgpilot: at this momment he hasn't any body and I dunno if he will have one ever... I really think he wont.
blasphemy3_d: I agree with you that bump is a bit exagerated in some areas... and the scar needs more work. I'm not done yet with the materials in max... neither with finalrender... Thanks for the 5 stars, but I don't know for what they are... .
kmanning, chepe297, Najd: Thanks a lot guys... It is inspired by the LOTR film, yes.
The punisher: gracias for your comentario. I'll try to hacer some prueba de pelo (hair) some day... when I tenga ganas.
Thanks de nuevo, chaval (guy).
Please...someone else??? :wip:
