View Full Version : anyone else got key errors in curve editor?
fxgogo 11-14-2002, 11:16 AM I am constantly getting all my keyframes tangents defaulting to the new ease-in/ease-out tangent in the curve editor in max 5.0
Anyone else getting this problem?

Go post this on the Discreet board please. The new Curve editor is a disgrace but if Discreet don't get to hear about everything that's wrong with it they won't fix it.
I've personally not noticed this particular problem yet, but I've had many others.

This slight *cough* problem occurs when you edit the curve easy-in and -outs via the properties of a keyframe, and changing the two icons there. Like you might've done all the time from MAX4. Every time you save they will default back to the standard curve-icon thing.
What does work, though, is going through the Curve Editor, selecting the keys you want to change, and using the icon-row at the top of that window, the ones that changes the curve to Linear, Ease-In, Flat, etc etc.
I don't know why its so, but it seems like a pretty lame bug. Can't say I'm personally bothered much, I use the curve editor.. er.. all the time pretty much, so I only became aware of the issue with the Keyframe Properties thing because I know others that has such a workflow.
Anyways, a workaround is through the curve editor. Which, for the record, I like :)
Hope that was of some help.
