This is the first picture I've ever posted in a 3D-forum. :)
So please give me your thoughts!

It's a model of the 2nd floor of my parents house, but I've kicked out most of the walls and put in big windows in the west- and east-facing walls. Ok, you get what I mean...:hmm:

I did this for the "final project" at school where we've been studying 3dsmax for 2-3 months. The GI is produced by finalRender. I had some problems though. I couldn't seem to get the light shining through the window when I had glass there to reflect the inside. Eh... I'll show you what I mean. As you can see in the lower right picture. I'll try to write less next time.

Very nicely done. Although the actual architechture is fairly simple it is very well constructed and looks like a real living room. perhaps a little more detail in the furniture and slightly brighter lighting would improve it. But well done its a very nice image.

Finally a reply!:bounce:
Thank you for your thoughts Frank!

I was going for a kind of simplistic look but maybe I took it too far. Maybe I should smooth out the furniture mainly.
I'm kinda tired of working with it, but some "artificial" lighting maybe would do the trick.

Thanks again! :buttrock:

i love the simplistic look of the architechture............don't change that
my only complaint would be the modeling of the couch - you need to add a bit more detail to that

Thanks Juntao!

What kind of details am I supposed to add? Like a little softer look and so you can see that it's cushions and stuff?

Anyone knows how to let the light through the window?

Firstly welcome to cgtalk:beer:

I hope you find many acorns here to put in your hat:thumbsup:

As for the image, it is simply supurb, I love the style and I especially love the stairs, great work!

I think that anything needs more detail, but perhaps some different lighting configurations, to set the mood a bit.
