Hey guys

How can I retain the shape of may characters head after i convert it to nurbs. I kinda want the slightly block look. The head is in polys and i need it to be converted to nurbs so I can add fur. Please help.

add extra edges on any area that you want to keep hard before you convert it to nurbs.
by default nurbs will average the points given in polygon in B splines calculation.

i should add that I have to convert to sub d's before nurbs. I dont need to be nurbs for any other reson than fur if any had any ideas. I just dont like the overly smooth look of nurbs on this character. :sad:

thanks yeh it works, but what about the pointy bits, nurbs from sub ds smooths them all off. Is there any way of avoiding this.

add more edges closer to the area, since the only thing kept from conversion is the vertices Info. What looks different is the calculation of the surface,

You should add more vertex (in poly case edges line) to hold the weight in that area.

rebuild the surfaces to 1 degree in U and V by number of spans.......
