I've been working on this one on and off since August. The primary weapons are two beam cannons mounted in the "fins" at the front of the hull (one is over, one is under). Modeling is, I'd say, about 70% done. I still need to detail the engines, add more details/greebles to the middle side sections, and do the paneling for the underside of the hull.

Cs & Cs, if you please!

This is the most current state of the model:

Here are two close shots of the engines. The renders are older, but I've not changed the engines since they were made:

Cool ship! The textures on the hull look very nice. The canons do seem a bit lost on the hull but this may change when you add more features.

Thanks for the feedback!

The textures are a very recent addition. All of the color variations are done with changes to the anisotropic settings. The diffuse settings are identical for each of the materials.

As for the cannons getting "lost," I assume you are referring to the lateral cannons? Those are secondary weapons, so them "blending in" along the hull is fine with me (and if you look at Star Destroyers their cannons blend in, too). If it's the main cannons you're referring to, I'm planning to do some tricks with volumetric lighting inside their barrels to draw attention to them. Just haven't found a setting I like yet.

I meant the lateral canons. The whole ship has a very slick hull so they look very prominent. Perhaps it would look more balanced if you add some more stuff like communication gear or something. Making it a bit asymmetric could be fine to. But that's just my opinion of course ;)

Sorta reminds me of the battle cruisers from homeworld 2.

Thanks for the comments! Yes, there's a definite Homeworld influence on this one. The game had really good ship designs.

As for progress, I've added some engine details...
