Whats a good method of making graphics made on a mac, look the same on a pc.

do most mac people keep their monitors on 2.2 gamma, what about the white point?
is it just a matter of brightness/contrast or is it color change as well?
how about lcds and crts?

thanks alot for any help,

ps I only have a mac

You can download GammaToggle from this link (http://www.thankyouware.com/) and then you can easily toggle between Mac gamma and PC gamma. This will give you an indication on how your image will look on a PC. Personally, I just go for what looks good on my Mac :)

I always lift the levels of my Mac images to 1.2 in Photoshop using an adjustment layer to get PC gamma,to return to normal drag the slider back to 0.8.Thing is though even different PC users have different gamma settings as well so its not perfect but close.

Theres a Deke Mclelland QT tutorial on how to do it in the tutes section,or there used to be :)

Working from a Mac I open image in Adobe Image Ready (free with Photoshop) Go to Gamma correction select 'Mac to Windows' and move the Gamma slider control halfway back from whence it came.
This gives you a compromise level of density/contrast so images viewed via the web look reasonable on both Mac & Windows browsers.
