View Full Version : pivot points
Jackmar 11-14-2002, 05:26 AM Hi, i am having trouble getting my pivot point to center in the middle of my objects on different layers...
In lightwave layout prgram i have a model with a lot of diffrent layers, each of the layers pivot point is at 0,0,0 even if the content on the layer is somewhere else, is there a way to automaticly set the pivot point to the center of the item on the layer?

Do a search over at Flay.com (http://www.flay.com)
for "PivotBB"
This will do the trick.

Here ia two scripts :
Auto set pivot - give u some variations on placing pivot...
Quick set pivot (my favorite) - will set pivot on selected point .
Sorry Cman - i tried youth and found Auto set pivot more powerful
Mine was actually at special request to boundingbox - so that's that. I personally prefer to use DStorm's DS_Center Pivot (http://www.dstorm.co.jp/dslib/plg65.html). It centers the pivot based upon center of selections selection. Very good. It's only limitation seems to be it only works based upon one layer at a time - which is why PivotBB came to life. :)
*edit*
Actually, now I've changed it so PivotBB will take your selection into account. Even a single point! Thanks Eugeny!
PivotBB is just before "GreatBox" (http://www.m2estudios.com/plugins.html)
