i'm using shakes multiplane node with an imported camera track from boujou and want to cut an image up, and move the layers in the z access towards the camera, this of course makes them look larger, i would like to keep the scale in relation to the camera exactly the same, so the image apears perfect before the camera move starts, i have about 20 layers, so matching by eye is painful.

this seems like a fairly ordinary thing to ask for, is there a way to do this, a hot key i missed or something. i did the usual search through the manual, but i cant seem to find this...

anybody have any ideas on this subject?

There is a lock to camera button on each layer in the mutliplane node, with a little icon above it. Once this button is ticked the translate and scale buttons are locked and a new attribute called from distance from camera is activated. This is how we have been doing sliced depth comps in shake 4 with imported cameras !

Have a look at the new blimp tut in the docs for a more detailed description.

i did try this, but i want to rotate round the planes so they go flat, if i unlock the camera the planes jump back to other positions, as it goes back to world rather than camera space, right?
