Hey, this is my first weapon model that I have payed attention to and worked at for a while.
Although it isn't finished I would like some ideas for what else to add.

It would really help if you showed us more angles/shots
theres something in that model that doesn't look alright, I hope you're using references while you are modelling, I guess you probably checked google images, if not then heres it is (http://images.google.com/images?svnum=10&hl=en&lr=&c2coff=1&q=M4A1+Carbine) also this looks useful (http://world.guns.ru/assault/as17-e.htm)
The scope thing looks like its in the wrong place, I think you're missing that handle part on the scope area and have the scope on top maybe

I used this image as reference, as you can see there are a few minor details that i'm missing.
A few other angles, although these are older renders.

well m8 you could pull it of with some bump tricks and good texture
how about if you modified it, e.g. add a third handle, tourch, M203 grande launcher

Some good modeling there, although you would do well to use photographic reference instead of the BF2 M4. You certainly need to make the weapon a bit wider.

Ok i'll widen it and add on the safety switches etc. When it comes to texturing it i'll see how far I can go with bump mapping etc.

You'll need to find other refs on this one as the BF2 model and texture is not accurate at all. For the scope, it's an Aimpoint ML2 Comp:
For the M4 in general, just do an image search via google for M4, Sopmod, etc. Good start, just needs some fixing up :D
