View Full Version : Unstick the Stickies?

Even though the full version of R8 still isn't out, I think most folks here have gotten into the early bird or demo and it may be time to free the stickies. Our tech department is still planning to put all the tips and mini-tutorials on the website, it's just been slow going due to other obligations.

So what do you think?

No no no...

I haven't read any of the stickies. Could you put them somewhere safe so that late 8 upgraders can find them.

I don't want to melt my brain, learning XL7 is still an uphill struggle for me.

Leave them until the full release at which time we can go back and experiment. Thanks:thumbsup:

Well I believe the maxon crew is working on getting all the howto's published on the maxon website, so if most people want the stickies removed fine with me, but the two tips and trick threads should definitely stick and the project. Might want to wait until there are more than just two on the site.

i agree don't remove until full release or until maxon have had chance to re-create on their website.

One question I did have which would fit here was how far back does this site retain threads?

Is there any process available for archiving/collating those threads into some sort of "how do i do that"? Or at least be able to search old threads and retrieve past conversations on how this/that was/is done. This ability to search over a longer period would be very useful.

how abouts compiling them all into one "C4D8" thread (if this is possible) till maxon get their site all up nd running, then delete the thread. at least taht way the forum will be neater and tidier.

I say SHIP THE GD PRODUCT ALREADY and we won't need the stickies.

Stickies are nice... but you should consolidate them in to one single sticky with the categories organized within it. ....I could make such a thread if you'd like... or atleast send you the UBB code

*sigh* i wish they would ship the final english version... even without printed manuals and then send the manuals later... the early bird is ok, but buggy, and i want to get going on projects with r8 as soon as possible (can't use it on projects till people i work with are using it dues to inability to save in r7 format).

Could we add a C4D wishlist sticky post? Just like a feature request form, as some Maxoners often come here.

PLEASE LEAVE THEM UP!!!

I've been purposely holding off reding them thoroughly until I get the final release. I didnt qualify for the EB and just d-loaded the demo last night--but havent had time to play with it. Those tutes will be a valuable and easy to find resource once I get moving and into production mode in R8. THANKS!

its too disorganised that way for maxon, if you have a suggestion send it to maxon, this also helps them to see what features people want more as more people request certain features.

Okay, here's the plan -

1. I'll leave the stickies up until the tech guys get them on MAXON's site (hopefully in a week or so).

2. You don't want a feature request sticky - because it won't have any weight in feature decisions. I know we at MAXON sound like a broken record on this, but you really do need to use the form to let the developers know what you want. Quantity counts too, so make sure to put your requests in even if you know someone else already has. Trust me - I work here and know how the game's played. Sometimes I think I'd have better luck getting the features I want if I used the form.

3. I'm hesitant to say anything about final release of R8 because the story keeps changing. Murphy's been working overtime on us. I'm not trying to keep you in the dark - the truth is the manuals are being done in other MAXON offices and all I really know at this point is that we don't have manuals yet.

STICKIES SUCK........they just clutter up everything as far as I'm concerned, so putting them in One stickie would be great.

DOWN WITH THE STICKIES! They are starting to get a little out of control and some of them haven't been updated in a little while!
