I am new to CGTalk and I am working on this Environment Concept. Just wanted to know what everyone though.

Was thinking of going with an orange lighting scheme.

Hi - i'm not everyone, unfortunately, but I can see you have a good start, it's looking pretty clean and well planned. Maybe define the forms even more clearly (esp. at the point of origin): to do this, you might work on the lighting structure, and you could give yourself more room by increasing the width of the painting.

Hopefully you will post progress soon - stick to your lighting scheme as you block in, as good rendering is invaluable in explaining the complex structures of the scene: and don't overload on the details; try and keep a balance between warm and cool colours...Environment painting is definitely on of the hardest things to accomplish, particularly cityscapes since they are so complicated. Check out some of Ryan Church's here --http://www.ryanchurch.com/05PER.htm; they are full of great ideas and pointers as to how to achieve a good looking environment. :D
