Hey! I was one of the lucky bastards who got to work on this. First as a modeler, then animator, renderMonkey and now I am compositing. I've also done some rigging along the way.
If you would like to see the episodes, you can go here:
click me (http://webtv.tv2.no/webtv/main.do?locale=en_US&storeLocale=true&returnToLastProgram=true)
Click tv2 junior at the bottom there and browse your way to Elias.
You'll have to register, but it's free :)
It hasn't been dubbed to all the languages yet so it's still norwegian, but the CG is the same ;)
A movie is in production too and it will air early 2007. Enjoy the show... And btw, Rune, who are you? :)

Just a hobbyist (http://home.online.no/~ru-j-wi/album/3D_Graphics/index.html) - with too little time to do 3D between work and family
Cheers,
Rune

What's wrong with that Smacky character? Looks like he's sniffed too much...columbian whizz fizz.

Mikademius,
Looks really good. I remember seeing the trailer for this a while back and was impressed with the overall aesthetic design. Really nice. What's it like for a CG artist in Norway? Is it mostly short form work? Like advertising? Is there much fx work for television. Or film work? Sorry that I don't have any knowledge of Norway other than the word for 'strawberries' which I've actually forgotten now........
Thanks,
Mahlon

runejw: That damn family taking all your time :P
yeoj: Character design is done by Olav Asland and a girl called Skirma. Two excellent 2d artists. We use Maya in our production and have customized tools for our fluids simulation. Without Maya... We would have been struggeling much more with water ;)
Mahlon: A CG artist in Norway...The market is wery narrow and a production like this is actually history here. Most 3d work in Norway is based on viz, commercials and vfx. Filmkameratene also did vfx for the movie IZZAT (IZZAT THE MOVIE (http://www.izzatfilm.no) )
FunCom is a company which focuses on gaming and does a very good job in that area. There are a very few smaller companies working on games here too. But 3d movies and series is not common here. Free Jimmy was supposed to be Scandinavia's first fully animated film, but that didn't happen. It will be released sometime early 2006 I think. Elias is really an oppertunity for Norway to grow in cg -series and -movies.

Haha that's cute :) Looking good too, nice work on the water and the characters. Good to see our neighbours to the west showing the way (scandiniavia needs more cg!) (I'm from Sweden ;))

Great looking show! What are you using to create the water? It looks fantastic!
We have a show with similar characters here in Nova Scotia. There is also a life-sized boat:

Hehe, Actually it is (almost, if you said bring a beer in one word we would probably think you meant bringebear :) ) But I got the wrong type though ;)

Time to get scandinavia on the map. Since Sweden is so slow, we have to do it :p

We use Maya Fluids to create the water ( customized it a bit of course :) ) Theodore the tugboat right? :) Yeah, heard of him before ;)

I just saw it on TV and did a search and found this thread. I was really impressed with the quality of the rendering (and of course the great texturing lighting and animation). I wonder which renderer you went with?
