This looks decent for your first attempt. the feet look a little flat and the pose looks off. it just looks to stiff for a humanoid robot that look like that. it looks like it could have a personality but the picture doesn't show that. but other than that my only comlaint is again the feet look a little flat.
good work

Thanx for sharing:)
He`s detailed and interesting. His head is quite unusual with that whirling pattern. The only thing I don`t like in him is that he has a human face. He looks like a bio-bot combination, I think just a simple "trianglish" element in the place of his face would make it much bot-like. Of course, it`s just a matter of my [not always usual:P] taste, not a criticism.
Regarding his pose, I expect you`d like to rig him, so it should not matter!

Cool design! I dunno if I could make a robot, haven't attempted one yet. Anywho the texture on the ground could use some tweaking, make it finer detailed and bump mapped. Also your robot looks like it is going to fall over. Perhaps you should rig him? And try to line it up better. Perhaps a dynamic pose might be good too.
