Hi everyone!
(age 16)
(3ds User)

Gnomon looks inviting, but i've been using 3ds for 2 years. Also, Autodesk's purchace of Alias makes Gnomon's future (for maya's sake) appear murky. Finally, none of the other digital art schools i've looked at look half as admirable or devoted to 3d as Gnomon.
If anyone has gone to or heard of a good 3ds school like or as good as Gnomon, PLEASE let me know!

Also, my "check out my work" link is broken, so if you wish please click on my avatar and click "Find all posts started by Dagibit" to see and coment on what i've done.

Thanks ALOT!

You're probably not getting replies because Gnomon is fairly unique as far as schools go, so it's tough to suggest something similar. Oh, and because you only waited like 7 minutes. Some people take longer than 7 minutes to even write a reply, let alone read your post and want to reply. Just be patient.

What I would say is don't base your decision on which school to go to on the app. To use the old line: a 3D app is just a tool. Besides, Maya has such a large user base I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon, and any follow up programs should still cater to Maya users, so as not to alienate such a big portion of the market.

My personal opinion: If you want to do animation go to Academy of Art (http://www.academyart.edu/), if you want to do modelling and texturing, go to VFS (http://www.vfs.com/). They may do other stuff besides 3D, but you really only have to worry about your course, not what the rest of the school is doing, and besides, you can't deny the quality of work out of those places.
