Title: Sepulcheral Ballet
Name: Matthew Coombe
Country: Canada
Software: 3ds max, mental ray, Photoshop

I wanted to create an image in a fantasy style and thought that using a ballet pose would be an interesting way to go. This pose gave me the opportunity to create an interesting and graceful form for the figure that could present the sword play in a more feminine way.

This work was published in 'Elemental 2' by Ballistic Publishing: http://www.ballisticpublishing.com/books/elemental2/

Pose is pretty good. Good first attempt at character modeling. I would like to see more textures. Her skin and clothes look kind of plastic. Too much empty space up top in the composition. She seems to have a look of sarcasm on her face. Her left arm almost looks too big, but it may be the angle. This has lots of potential.

Very nice, but I'd agree that the arm looks pretty thick (the one closest to us) and the head looks too small for the body.

Wow for first time modeling this is incredible. Great Job!

One little crit though is the lighting, it needs a little work. It appears as though she is running headlong into a floodlight. Aside from that it is a wonderful piece congrats.

She does look a little plastic because of the lack of textures- but the modelling and pose are really good. Very nice work!

Thank you all for the feedback.

It's true, I didn't spend a lot of time on texture work because I was trying to work more on the figure and the pose.

First time doing lighting for a character too so I'm sure I can learn a lot.

Thanks again.
