Hey if both Nemo and Ice Age can do it and still come out massive hits then I don't see why they can't stay with the original story (trying not to create any spoilers for those new to this) :)

I am *definitely* tired. I read the thread title and thought:
'An online poster for the new film Charlotte? I haven't heard of this before.....
....
Oh. Right. Charlotte's Web '

Charlotte's Web??????
You've got to be kidding me!
Nothing is sacred anymore.
Why the hell must classic films that GET IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME have
to be remade again?!?!?
I already know the answer to that, just had to get it out of my system.
On a similar rant whats with posters/previews saying "only in theatres on such and such a date" Where else would it be? Does any studio make posters for direct to video release?
Or are they warming us up to future releases that happen "only in theatres and on in-demand?"

I liked the book and I thought the original 2D animated movie did a good job at adapting it
Not sure where the whining about preserving the purity of the book nonsense is coming from.
The Book and the 2D film had pretty much the same ending with the same "message" to it as far as I can remember.
In my opinion, if this is re-done 'ala' "Babe" live action style, with CG for the spiders, then it could turn out pretty well.
(singing mice would be fun though)

This is exactly how it's going to be done. Walden Media will be producing this movie. In an interview with Walden's President Micheal Flaherty, he said that one of the things he learned from the mistakes of "Around the World in 80 Days" was that it is important to be faithful to the book. Walden Media produced "Holes", "Because of Winn Dixie", and is currently producing "The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe". They have also acquired the rights to one of my favorite childrens series, The Dark Is Rising.

Does anyone else think that that poster looks...well... like crap?`Doesn't bode well for the film. Also, why is it necessarry to remake every childhood story there is? I understand hollywood wants to make money, but come-on, make some original work. just getting tired of seeing third rate remakes...
Sorry, rant will be set to "off" in..3...2...1... :p

This movie could be good, but I Agree with you. sooner or later they will run out of ideas.
Then the remakes of the remakes of the sequels and prequels and re-imaginings will begin
in an endless loop.
