View Full Version : Rendering in Maya
Mananetwork 11-13-2002, 07:12 AM How do u setup Maya so when it renders, it does the best job it can. I heard that rendering in maya isn't that great.
Are there other programs that do better?

try mental ray 1.5 if you have maya 4.5 (it's free) - i wouldn't simply say it's better - both need a lot of tweaking (and knowledge of what to tweak) to get the results you are looking for
i think maya's built-in renderer does a good job - it all depends

okeyyy.. sorry..
i just felt like i had to write that.
mananetwork: 42 is the answer to life, the universe and all the rest when you listen to douglas adams and the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy..
and i wrote it, because your question was like.. emm.
i think to answer your question i would have to copy the maya rendering manuals, copy the texturing manuals, the modeling manuals, the tech sheets about anti aliasing and rendering artifacts and all resource out of the net to that topic.. in other words: it was not very precise and it is not possible giving an answer to it without writing thousands of pages.
hope you understand now and - no offence.. :)
cheers
