View Full Version : animation project poster
KOBALT_KORE 11-13-2002, 12:32 AM Hello all. This would be the first time that I actually post some of my work on this board.
This is a poster of a character from an animation project that I am currently working on:
:attachment:
(a less compressed version of the poster can be viewed here: http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=267089&Start=1&Artist=KOBALT%5FKORE&ByArtist=Yes&Form.sess_id=571508&Form.sess_key=1037150472
and a full-size version (500k) without any text is here:
http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=278394&Start=1&Artist=KOBALT%5FKORE&ByArtist=Yes&Form.sess_id=571508&Form.sess_key=1037150472
I am very proud of this character, as it was my first real attempt at a 3D model. The only stuff I had done before was just tinkering around with the program to learn its various functions. Everything was done in anim8or (a free 3D modelling, rigging, animation, rendering program - www.anim8or.com ). There are no textures at all.
What do you guys think? :)

hi!
The character, shaders and lighting looks fantastic. But I find The text needs alot of work, and, sorry for being "brutaly" honest, but I find the "his colony will be avenged" cheesy.
Maybe you should just write "Vengeance." I don't know, just a thought.
Personal opinion, and subjective obviously. ;)
Great work on the character though:buttrock:
Bring it on!
Wow. Impressive work. Although it looks almost too detailed in some spots. Hard to tell whats going on. Like around the hip area mostly. But this is just me. Nice job though.

Thanks emiliog! :D
Yeah... the text is corny now that you point it out. :hmm: I'll keep that in mind the next time.
Thanks for your comments
p.s.-there weren't any shaders used - just material settings like ambient, diffuse and whatnot.

Got a wire/not lit render you can show? Because of the lighting, it's really hard to tell...
He/it/she looks bad ass!

Yeah - I kind of went overboard with the polys just for fun - he's made up of 325 019 polygons :D

heheh. It's ok, don't worry about it. It still rocks. see if there's a Multi res function in your software (there has to be).
Like that you can animate it later on, 'cause it would be a shame to drop this character.

EmilioG: No, there aren't any polygon reduction tools in anim8or, but I'll just export parts of the model into 'progmesh' to reduce the amount of polys. Then I'll export it back into Anim8or to rig and animate it, and once done that, I'll swap the low-res model with the higher-res original. :wip:

Wow nice, although I dont like the lighting. It doesnt show off the amount of detail you have in this wonderful model. Like said above the text is a little corny. Other than that it looks great. I would love to see this thing with GI!
