i made some folds for my face but from some reason (don't know why) they look bad to me. what do you think about them?
when i painted them i DID use blur and smudge, but still they look to me more like scratches. could it be because of low resolution of the texture map?

p.s. don't pay attention to the line in the middle. the face is still detached.

Yup that is because your map is too low rez. Try increasing it's size quite considerably - I personally never ever use anything less than 1000x1000 pixels. In fact, my maps are usually 1500x1500 or 2000x2000 pixels ;)

As with lots of things in life, the bigger, the better ;)

actually, this one is 2400x2400

how much dpi do u usually use? this one is a 72 dpi.

dpi is irrelevant. It only matters if you are talking about a certain size in real world measurements compared to the overall size of the image in pixels. (ie for print)

Its like asking someone how many 'miles per hour' you drive at. Without more information like either distance travelled or time spent travelling you cant get any meaningful information. :)

aaargh! i just realized i haven't streched the face when i made the wire map. that's why the folds in the bottom are thicher than the other ones, (right?). i hope it won't be lots of work here since it's a patch model and my computer is slooooow.

Have you managed to fix it? :)

i haven't, because i'm waiting for my new computer to arrive, after the strike in the border costums will be over and the damn video card will pass the border.
it takes too much time to work on textures with the lousy computer i have now so i'm working on the other parts of my scene now.
i'm almost sure that it was because i haven't stretch the face when projecting the texture, i hope it won't be a lot of work since it's a patch face (i think it's gonna be the last time i'm working with patches!!!)

but a big tanx for the concern
