CGTalk - how: texture making

hi,
i want to make this style of texture/background.

i tried several ways but nothing compares to this.
any ideas how?

What exactly is it that you want to repeat? By the way, I don't see a lot of the pic, it's pretty dark.

the whole thing :)
i tried to make something like this by putting a pattern overlay of Kraft Paper and then brown color overlay with Color blending. i thought i suppose to be like that but nothing.
and i certenlly dont know how to do the light effect...

the worst is that i don't know where to begin looking..
