View Full Version : WIP Modeling: Male Character Nude

Hey Guys and Gals,

I am doing a togology study for a Male Nude Character Model. This is the rough low poly mesh before I bring it into ZBrush and Sculpt it up further and state the form even along with detailing the form. Any Comments and Crits are welcome. I do have a few rough spots in it that I am going to clean up in ZBrush because its easier for me to clean up finer detail problems in ZBrush than in XSI. Oh yeah the entire model has been done in XSI 4.2. People are always asking me to show more of my workflow so for once I am going to post from the very start of my modeling process.

Hey Guys N Gals,

Ok I lied I forgot I had one set of earlier pictures. In all I have probably only spent about 10 hours on this model so far which is a week of my spare time. Here are the earlier modeling images of my workflow. The difference between the 2 sets of images is one day. Sorry I didn't make wires at that point and time.

Hey Guys N Gals,

Right now my character is sporting Farewell to Arms. Hopefully he will have them soon enough. Its up to 3,500 polys for half a character right now. Has some surface detail smoothing problems that can be fixed in ZBrush Easily. Still right now this is the rough model before it goes to ZBrush for detailing. :) ;) Comments and Crits Welcome :) ;) I love Crits.

Looks nice.. You seem to have gotten the body anatomically correct(I'm no expert in human anatomy but it looks great). Although I noticed some splices on your mesh topology(Where the chest muscle meets the camera right arm and on the camera right ribs). You should look into other proffessionally built models' topology to get an idea of how to get it right. Don't get me wrong, it looks great but the topology needs a bit reworking.

Great job, anyway.. I'm sure it'll turn out great. Keep it up.

Hey Goraaz,

Do you have links to any of these topologies that don't have triangles and don't have N-Gons? I would appreciate it. I have had trouble finding ones other than the ZBrush Video on Stating the Human Antomy. Thanks for the crit :) ;)
