One of many illustrations for some modern fairytales...

Any comments? :)

Cool. Looks pretty cool.

Crits. The texture on the left side of the rock (viewers left) blends into the ground texture. Also, is each circle supposed to have a visible center mark thing? Im confused by that. Anyways, nice rock.

with the attention to detail you have shown it seems like you would do pretty good in the vis/fx earthquake challenge. might want to look into it.

Now that's what I'm talkin' about. Did you use image maps of actual rock textures?

Thanks for comments,

it is all done with image maps of real stone in Lightwave 5.6 some years ago... ;-)
The astrological sign on top is thought to be "burned in" through the whole stone - therefore you can see it inside...

Cool stone, obviously you know your tools very well. Very believable.

I love the subtle variations of lighting that you've managed to get in there. I just had to comment.. nice job.

Ok, after searching some really old backups for it (1999) I managed to find the files. But Lightwave has made some big leaps since 5.6 so it seems to look something different in Version 7.5...
Can you remember not being able to render Subdivs? What a pain.

It is a very simple scene, most of the image is the textures and light ...
