Hi,

I am experiencing strange problem with the net render R9.5 and multipasses - some of them don't get render, specifically material - diffusion and other material channels. Some other passes (e. g. shadow) work without problem. I had tried to render both to separate files and multilayer file, but the problem remained.

On a single machine the same file renders correctly.

Has anyone seen this? Are material passes supported by net render at all?

As long as I was unable to find anything relevant in the documentation I am now stuck. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the info. I have rendered the whole sequence on a single computer finally. Fortunately just in time for the deadline ;)

for future reference, I jsut had to workaround this bug to, its best to render your colour and shadow etc over net, and then have a single pc workign on all the alpha channels, this way that single PC can have a copy of the file with Textures using the options tab of render settings, the shadows reflections and refractions turned off using the gerneral tab, this will speed its rendering up significatnly, I found that the pc rendering the alphas was typically done slightly faster then my full colored scenes over the rest of net.

This workaround is definitely a time saver and would work with alpha with minimal overhead. In fact I used it in the project I had reffered to. But I needed to render material diffusion channel with ambient occlusion. That pass took much more time to render on a single machine than the rest over the net.
