JohnD 11-12-2002, 05:43 AM Hey all,
This is the main character from my flic I've been working on. He's rigged, textured and ready to go. If anyone has any suggestions/comments, please post. I had some great input for a few other characters I posted a while ago. Thanks and enjoy.

But it looks like he is going to shoot himself in the head with that other gun heh

Lol, I hear ya Laker. I suppose you have to actually see him in motion to know he is "scratching" his head with the barral of the gun. D'oh!

Hey thanks for the reply Emilio. I'll post some test animtions as soon as I can. How is working with Character Studio? I noticed on your post that that is what you used to animate your rave girl. I only worked with 3DSMax very briefly but never had a chance to hit CS.

In complete honesty? I don't want to start a war here but... I've used softimage, seen Maya, and worked with tons of other rigs. Character Studio is fantastic. The only thing they were lacking was squash and stretch, but that's in the next release. We/they are testing the beta as we speak, and it's got lots of bugs, but that's why discreet's in testing phase. They've come a long way, and I wouldn't want to use anything else... unless I have to port over to Maya or back to soft on the next job! :)
enveloping and animating with it is great. I'd say Discreet's come a long way.

I remember back in college we were using 3ds v.4 I was about 2 weeks from graduation when we Max came out and our class got it. Played with it for a little bit but never had time to really get into it or CS. But I agree, Discreet has definitly come a long way, as has 3ds. I'm using Lightwave and have to say for all the bashing it gets for not having great character animation capabilities, I haven't had much trouble with it. As long as you can crank out killer stuff...who cares what software you use...right?:buttrock:
