Maya-MAC Rookie Question:

Feel free to reprimand me for the idiocy of this 'rookie' question. :shrug:

I have recently installed Maya 3.5 (yeah yeah I know I'm behind) and as a mac user I wish to use my one-button-hockey-puck mouse (which I am very partial to).

The online help suggests: "Set MAYA_MAC_BUTTON_MAP variable in the Maya.env file (1 for one button, 2 for two buttons, 3 or unspecified for three buttons)."

My Maya.env file is blank making it very difficult to specify any number of buttons.

Anyone got any suggestions? (other than investing in a 3 button mouse) :shrug:

Put:
MAYA_MAC_BUTTON_MAP=1
in you maya.env file

Do yourself a favor and go buy a 3 button mouse. You have two usb ports on your keyboard, keep the puck on one and the three button mouse on the second one. Maya sucks without a 3 button mouse. Your better off without the puck.

Doesn't the Mac version come with a 3 button mouse?

No, that was just an introductory deal that a/w made when 3.5 first shipped.
