View Full Version : Formula 1 GP Ferrari F2005 - Texturing

Hi everybody.

I'm a bit of a newbie, and would like to present my first 3D model ever.

The work is done in Lightwave 8.3 and textures/decals with Photoshop CS2.

I would love to hear your opinions, constructive criticism is most welcome!

Nosecone of the F2005 Ferrari. Rendering time is quite a lot as I'm using an HDRI image to light the scene.

You can see slightly into the cockpit, and as you might be able to see, texturing has not yet been done on this part of the car.

The view of the car Ferrari opponents are going to be seeing a lot next year...we hope! Tyres are at the moment just a plain surface, I'll be tackling those soon to make them look hopefully more real.

Hi guys...I've posted this message only to put the thread back on page 1, for a while at least. I've been sorting out my personal web hosting space and can now display my images without you having to open additional windows and stuff!.

So here we go, fire away on your thoughts, crits and advice!

Hi Josamoto. I like the details and hard work you've put in here. Good effort, however as a fellow fan of Formula 1 I have a pretty keen eye when it comes to f1 cars. I'm seeing a bit dis-proportion in the cockpit/tub. It's looking a bit too chunky and kinda makes the back look small and skinny.

Perhaps it's just the camera angle you are using, but from the first render it just doesn't look quite perfect. Great detail though. Very impressive.

I think it could be the camera angle, but I'll definitely take a look and compare to a few photographs I have.

The cockpit isn't completely finished though, besides texturing I might need do do a bit more touching up on modelling, this doesn't only count for the cockpit though, there definitely are some other areas that also need a bit of tweaking.

My philosophy...a work of art is never finished!!!
