Hi all! It's my turn to ask something...

Does anybody know a way how to set a gradient or a bitmap or some other non-solid background colors for alpha premultiplication, when rendering stuff out from AE?
This is to be used in a real time TV-graphics system...

I usually set premultiplication color from the composition background color, such as light gray for graphics with a glow, or black for graphics with a shadow. But in this case I need both: glow at the other end of the frame and shadow at the other.

Anybody?

make the footage for the alpha premultiplication in black and white and use the

"silouhette alpha" mode

You could also use the "set channels" filter, set the alpha to the luminance.
