Alright let's see if anyone out there is almighty in smartyness. Here we go. On softimage 3d, which I use cause it's easier than XSI, I am having a problem with rendering. I know how to render and all, but once we start rendering we have a itty bitty problem arise. While we are rendering we get a little program I'm sure u are all familar with. It's the open program with... window. anyhow we get this pop up and to get the next frame to render we haveto close it. this appears ever frame every time we render. this wouldn't be much of a problem except for the fact that we're students who have to use the school computer to do softimage 3d this computer is used all day so we can't nessicarily leave it running till the next day. If u guys/ gals know how to fix this I would be much obliged.

sounds like you are rendering in Renderman? yes? if so, just unclick the option to use framebuffer in Softman options.
If you are not using Renderman I have no idea of what you are talking about :)

Does this happen on every computer? Or just one.
My guess: Sounds like your setenv.bat has gotten screwed up.
My suggestion: re-install Softimage|3D.

I had some other people helping me. Man I feel stupid now but I'm gonna send the anser anyways. The answer was the fact that the render was trying to grab a script that didn't exsist. well also the fact that there was no script. Anyhow thanks for helping and trying. CHEERS
