This is pretty incredible. If Stanley Mouse can prove any of that he could win some huge damages.

Wow. It's a hard one too, not like that blatant case with J.K Rowling.
Everyone wants their share.... Of course, had the movie flopped, no one would have said anything..

Happends all the time. Some girl sued Blue Sky/Fox over the squirrel character Scrat:

Looks like a good case for Stanlel Mouse (wierd coincidence):
1: Shopped a movie around where characters lived in Monster City
2: Movie featured a buddy relationship between a monster with one huge eye and a big dim witted galoot.
3: The buddies worked at a monster corporation.
Sounds like more than just similarities to a character with one eye.....
Seeing as how Stanley Mouse is definitely not some unknown trying to cash in, this might actually may be a bad sign for Disney's case.

If you read the article, allegedly someone involved with the production of Monster's Inc. came to visit Stanley Mouse in his studio 3 years prior to the release of MI, about the time he was shopping his movie. It sounds like he has a strong case, and I don't think he's out to make a quick buck. Look at all the instantly recognizable work on his site. He's not some no name burn out artist. He's known, respected, and probably pretty well off. His model kits, posters, stickers, and tshirts have been in circulation since the sixties. I'd really like to see how this turns out. His lawyer probably advised him to wait to file suit until Monter's Inc had pulled in as much money as possible from box office, merchandising, and home release. He could be in for a big payout.
