geforce 6800Gt single slot solutions?

dual slot means having two geforce cards in both of the PCI-Express slots in SLI mode. The point of it is that in SLI mode 1 card renders the upper half of the screen and the other renders the lower one thus increasing the framerate THEORETICALLY(!!!) by 100%. This is very application-specific, so u CAN have some games that run twice as fast, but in most other games or software the increase in FPS is not as high. A similar technology is the CROSS-FIRE mode with GFX cards from ATI

Actually no.. A dual slot 6800GT card occupies two slots due to the size of the heatsink. But to my knowledge most 6800GTs are single slot solutions (There are a few that are dual slot though). Meaning the heatsink is small enough to allow the card to only occupy one slot in the system.

Most 6800 Ultras are dual slot because they require larger cooling solutions.

hi lots, im not sure if this 6800 Gt has single or dual slot solution, it has 2 fan though, but im nor sure if the thickness occupies 2 slots? what do you think?

i know for sure that the Leadtek Winfast 6800GT TDH PCI-Express comes in a single-slot flavour and it's darned nice for the price.

hi alex, its a sparkle geforce 6800GT, the screenshot was on top view so im not sureif its a single slot solution, il check again on the site, if it mention what type of slot it is:) thanks for the leadtek tip.:)

The only dual slot 6800GT I'm aware of is a Leadtek. But still, send email for confirmation. You do want to be absolutly sure ;)
