Hey hey!

Umm well I am working on something different again, this time its a dome, and I have run into a prob.
The top of this dome is a parachute over pvc pipe. The guy Im designing it for wants the parachute to drape down over the supports (pvc). So in other words, it needs to be soft fabric like. I have an example picture here that might be able to help you guys, but if you know of anything that might be able to do this in MAX please tell, I dont have any money to buy plugs. :) Thanks for the help, heres the pic. By the way, it doesnt have to be velvet it just needs to "drape"

I've never tried it myself, but I've heard nothing but praise about it. Best of all, it's FREE!

Ive got SimCloth up and running. I have experimented with it quite a bit and I cant seem to get the effect that I want. I have an object with cylinders with bend mods on them bending into the midlle to creat a roof. I want the SimCloth to make it so when I make it "drape" the cloth hangs inbetween the pipes. I can put the scene up here if someone wants to see it, just ask.

Three hours ain't enough for you?
Hell, I could have modeled it with NURBS in half that time. Maybe less if I cared to use NURBS more often. Then again, I would prolly have given up on NURBS and used Splines/Surface instead.

send me ur scene, if u want to try it, u will have to build a plane object and by extruding its edges u will be able to drape it over ur pipes or u can use nurbs to do it 2.

u can mail me at madhatfx@hotmail.com

:bounce: If u look at 3DSMAx 's installed examples , it explains how u can make a soft body with it's internal tools and i must say (although i use Maya now...) that it works just VERY..VERY Nice for what u want to do...

hope i helped.
