Hey Everyone! This is Gary Crocker from nPower Software the company that brought you Power Booleans plug-in for 3ds Max.

Just thought you might want to know that we have now officially released Power NURBS for 3DS MAX. It is a complete hybrid Solids and NURBS Surface modeler designed for the Artist and Designer. It has some cool stuff that even the big CAD vendors don't have for surface creation and manipulation. Take a look at the video tutorials and down load the demo to give it a try.

Interesting development here! Im not too keen on 3ds max nurbs themselves, but this looks likes it will be put to good use now!

I gave it ago & I watched the camera tut and picked it up straight away!

I could have so used this when I was creating highly detailed armour. Man!... you have no idea the kind of pain I was going through, cutting small shapes out of subdivided surfaces and trying to keeping a smooth surface. It's pretty amasing what you can achieve with only a few splines. Other than product & architecture, this is a god send for the gaming industry and all those normal mapped armoured characters & buildings.
I haven't tried doing any organic objects as zbrush pretty much has that covered for me. But this is easierly more equip & faster than any other method at creating precise shapes of any form. Sweet Biscuits!

Having used the beta, I can vouch that PowerNurbs is proper good!

First of all, thanks soo much for this really powerful NURBS revolution, I wated for such nurbs tool from very long time ago. cause i always believed that NURBS is the most powerful mechanical modelling system. but the tools that 3ds max gives for NURBS is soo weak and make me crazy.

any way,
I tried the trial version and i got some notes..
1- Still not stable ( it makes the application crash a lot from time to time ) specially when model becomes more complex
2- in the fillet process, the more I use it starts give me some abnormal results, for example it applys fillet sets of special edges to another.
3- well, its not the plugin it self. it's the tutorial extention SWF it will be better to be another video extention so the user could play forward and back easly, so if he missed something he will not have to play it again from the first ( its just a sugestion :) )

once again thanks soo much for this really awsome pluging, and I'll be happy to purchase such valuable gift from n-power software
