View Full Version : Star Trek Enterprise Continuation Project
Pheon 09-30-2005, 12:47 PM I’m currently working on an Enterprise Continuation Project. The ultimate aim of which is to re-launch the series as a web based CGI show. It will use game-level graphics similar to that in recent games like Doom 3 or Half Life 2 to save on rendering times, and to hopefully speed along production.
Now, re-creating a whole 20-something series might be a little out there, but I’m aiming to produce one full-length episode first, as see where things go from there.
If anyone is interested in helping out in this project, you can get in touch with me on the following e-mail address: joe8342001@yahoo.co.uk (joe8342001@yahoo.co.uk) where I will answer any other questions you might have concerning the project.
So if you’ve got a skill that can help in this effort: modelling, animating, writing, sound, etc., then please get in touch with me and help me bring this dream alive.

More detailed summary of my plans:
Well there are some of the major ties I want to get through, such as:
· The continuing evolution of the Coalition of Planets into the UFP (their will be a few obstacles in the way of course)
· Obviously one of the major issues will be the build up to the Romulan Wars
· I’d also like to pick up on the cliff hanger we were left on in the Mirror Universe
The season will start with a series of stand-alone episodes as the Enterprise returns to her original mission of exploration. But gradually as the season progresses it will return more to the episode arcs which we're familiar with in Season 4.
I’m looking for a goal season length of somewhere between 22-26 episodes. But my objective is to produce one first, see what the situation is, assessing how long it took to make etc, and decide whether or not it's truly feasible to create any more episodes. So my agreeing to help me now, you will only be committing yourself to creating one 42 minute episode, not a whole season.
I’ll also go out on a limb, and say what you think my stand is on TATV. Well, I’m not going to blow it completely out of the water, but it wasn’t the best episode was it. http://www.trekbbs.com/threads/images/graemlins/wink.gif Let’s just say I’m not going to feel restricted by TATV. So if any ideas that crop up which does disregard the episode I won’t hesitate to use them providing they are good ideas. About the only plot element featured in the episode that I plan to pick up on is a mounting tension within the Imperial Guard, which leads Shran to fake his own death.
I’ve already got a handful of episode, and arc ideas, but I will need help if they’re going to make it out.
Finally one of my main goals is to clean up Enterprise’s slate, and make it the prequel most of us wanted whilst staying as true as possible to what came before. I'm intending to put as much character development into some of those less utilized characters as possible. And hopefully create something that will turn out even better than the actual show itself.
If you have any follow questions don’t hesitate to ask them.

Umm… I’m not sure.
I’ve being aware of that project for quite a while now, and where as I’ve thought about getting involved in it, nothing about it has really enticed me enough to want to join their development team.
Anyway, thanks for the ref.

The first WIP of the project is available on the 3D WIP forum at: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthread.php?t=286067
I still need a team people. I’m looking for:
Modellers
Animators
Texture Artists
Sound Engineers
Concept Artists/Designers
Staff Writers
Web Designer
Eventually as production gets further along I will also need:
Voice cast
Episode Directors
Musician
If you’ve got the skills and a little time necessary to devote to the project, then get in touch on the above address.
NOTE: If you’re a modeller and have a particular preference for what you want to model, say for example only want to model the sets, then that’s okay.

Project Update:
The projects forums and website are almost finished, but WE NEED MODELLERS badly.
Contact me at: joe8342001@yahoo.co.uk
If you're concerned that it will take up too much of you're time, then I'll assure you for the foreseeable future, modellers will only need to donate a minimum of couple of hours a week to the project.

If anyone out there has 3D modelling experience, preferably in 3DS MAX (as it's the program I'm using), the project could really do with some help in this area.
We could really do with modelling team working on the main characters, standing ship sets, and main props now. As of the moment the modelling team consists solely of myself, and more help is needed if this is going to go anywhere.
If you’re worried about time constraints, juggling the project with work, etc, then I can say for a fact that the workload will be pretty easy for the foreseeable future. While myself along with the rest of the writing staff are writing the scripts, and coming up with the direction of the season, we could be getting the bulk of the modelling work out of the way.
The model assignments will be pretty simple, I’ll give out a job to model a particular character, prop, or ship (based on the modellers preferences as well), and I’ll leave you to focus on that one object until it’s done.
We need modeller’s that’s a fact if this project is going to go anywhere. If you’re interested in a position, or have a query then don’t hesitate to ask. Contact me at: joe8342001@yahoo.co.uk (joe8342001@yahoo.co.uk)
