hey guys,

Im having an issue when i create previews. sometimes it will hold on a frame, but the frame counter will keep going and this results in the animation being very jerky. I've never had this issue before and im not sure what the cause is. any ideas/help? Thanks.

what codec are you using?

it doesn't matter if i compress to an avi or an mov using the animation codec.

try using something simple like cinepak and see if it helps... OR try doing an uncompressed avi, or even a jpg sequence and bringing it into another program (or the ram player) to see what happens.

Are you using 2 monitors?

I've come across a new problem with preview where if you move your mouse pointer off the screen that is rendering the preview, the animation slows down. I'm not sure when this showed up but it's happening on both our FireGL and Quadro machines. Now you can't even surf the net whilst waiting for that preview :(
