Some futuristic rusty russian aeroplane is about to crash into a city and this two guys are riding bike on it.
I will change the aeroplane body to make it look recognizable.
Now i am collecting images of different bikes and textures/images of aeroplanes for reference.

colouring and colouring, damn...
I think i will make some new concept, i am not happy with the result. I think even after i would have finalized the colouring and adding special fx and particles it would e not spectacular and good enough. I shall not rush it, i can do it better.
hmm, maybe a fantasy concept, steampunk with fat moonsters?
Let's try that

Fantastic man!! I love it!! Keep working on it and you will have a stunner! :scream:
Fr#@king awesome, you've got some heavy skill  Great job on those textures indeed!
Keep going! :)

Thank you all!
But i will not go on on this one.
I rushed the concept and there is not much potential in this one for this competition.
I will start something completely new i think, maybe some fantasy setting or something.
I already have some ideas.
However i will finish this one one day and post it in the 2D forums.

Wow - how the heck do you get such amazing textures?
Is it all hand painted or are you using some filters to enhance?
I like that dynamic concept A LOT but I agree that it might not be spectacular enough by itself. Maybe if it was part of a bigger scene..battle..something epic

Holy sh*t!!! that's some friggin amazing detail you got going on here allready, outstanding work! :buttrock:
Hahaha that guy looks like Bono :D
BTW don't you forget to clear all milestones eh, since you went from concept sketch to coloring WIP and you didn't do a line-art milestone, would be a damn shame if you forget and eventually won't be accepted in the challenge, just thought I might point that out just in case :)

Ok, another concept.
Let meexplain my goal and idea.
First of all i want to create a contrast, many contrasts in fact.
I want to make the colours like a classic oil painting, a dreamychilling mood, spectacular sight and so on.
But what you see is gigantic machines harvestig. Of course the machines shall have the classic UFO Alien aperience, peopleshallsee that this ARE aliens. What you can not see on this concept is what they are harvesting...i imagine bodies sprayed all over the aria, some vew survivirs running.
The machines are collecting the bodies with their flexible tentacles of steel. Some aliens are walking the ground searching for moving bodies.
There is no fighting and no resistance, no shooting.
Hmm, i have to see aout the bodies... I will test the effect of many and just a couple. I have to see if it looks realistic to have hundrets of dead bodies on the country side.
maye just a couple and some animas?
Or no dead bodies at all? Maybe the machines collect fruits? and the people are helping the machines. Or no people at all
maybe everything is mechanical, articicial...
Or how aout this:
This is a fantasy world, you see dragons and goblins running and then there are this aliens hunting them down.
SF meets Fantasy.
Sorry about my horrible writing, i am very tired and excited to go on with this painting.
Comments are welcome

Nice man!! I love the feeling of this, but yeah it does sound like 'War of the Worlds' a bit, but tahts a good thing because I LOVED that film! Excelent technique on the painting I must add aswell!! :)

Hmm, what shal i do with the lineart?
Normally i just scale the scetch or the speedpainting to the final resolution and start painting on it, using it as base colour. I work more with colour and shapes then with lineart unless i want to make it look cartoon like.

Love your sketches! Especially your last one wich I think could turn out to a real masterpiece. Are you going for the Rembrandt colorcheme?

BTW, i paint this Imagein Open Canvas 1. It is a very cool Software, about 1MB in size.
It has the touch of a slightly advanced oekaki paint software. :D
I love OC1.

Hey man! I am your great fan! :)
I played Aquanox and Aquanox: Revelation, these two games I like especially for strange cinematics with great pictures, pictures with characters are most fantastic.
I like your style very much, but the best on everything are colors.
Give to yours pics unique atmosphere.
Your sketches for spectacular looks great, especialy second sketch with guys on bikes, it looks almost done. New sketch looks great too, but robot quiet reminds me War of Worlds.
I look foward too see your final image, for me your winner now. :D
Good luck man, you rocks!

Really good composition!
And excellent the "oil painting" style...
Can I ask one thing since I'm new here.
I saw you said that you are using open canvas 1... I have just downloaded it, and i was so surprised: it is Exactly like CG illust! Same toolbars, even the brush window is exactly the same! it really seems to be the same application?!

I like the landscape, the colours and the impression of scale, but I don't think the two legs in the foreground work well. They look too static. Personally I would have one of those bots rushing towards the viewer, or even being destroyed and ploughing into the earth, maybe with rocks and soil flying "out" of the picture. Still, just an idea, great work

That is awesome! I think it's such an interesting contrast, the suggestion of something so menacing doing something as harmless as picking fruit. The bodies would be little more exciting of course... anyway, I just love your work! keep it up!
This is truly an awesome piece of work... as was your previous concept. I am looking forward to seeing you develop this work more!
