View Full Version : Sub Surface Scattering??
Domo_Digital 09-28-2005, 12:03 AM Hey,
I've seen this thing for XSI called "diffusion" for making subsurface scattering that looks pretty dang cool...and seems fairly easy to use.
Just wondering if theres a similar thing fo Maya? like a SSS,node or something?
Anyone know?

The SSS node is included in Maya 6.5 and up for use with Mental Ray. Before that it was not included but was available as a download from the alias site for version 6.0. There is a huge thread related to SSS in the Maya>Rendering forum here. If you lok through it you can find links to the shader as well as many other great MR shaders.

It does look like its included in Maya 7 but, how do you use it?
I cant fund anything in the help files on how to network any of these MR shaders. The ones I do know how to use, someone else showed me
