Nice shots!
Funny thing, the gollum shot looks so real that it looks like some kinda animatronic....... (if not a real animatronic)
BTW, don't read the book "Lord Of The Rings", it may contain spoilers...... :scream:
Actually, far from these photos being spoilers, it proves how important VFX is to bringing a story like this to the big screen. Let's hope this one is as good as the first......

what are you talking about
cant you all see that they forgot to straight the alpha on the tree before doing colorcorrection and therefiore got glow around its edges!
and even though the tree is overexposed, the brightest parts of it is still darker than the brightest parts of the rest of the image.
totally amateurish!
nah, just kidding :)
it looks really über..
cant wait to see it move

lol I usually say, don't watch the movie if you want to read the book...
But well, they did a great job on those films, VFX-wise I mean, those are great shots! and it is CG? those guys at WETA can be praised...I'm real happy with the look of Treebeard, he's got a nice mood, very close to what I fancied.
........ = me speachless :applause:
I had a real worry about them buggering up Treebeard, heck it's not the easiest thing to portray.
I feal so bad for doubting the guys and gals at Weta, how could I ?

wow, incredibly cool. Can't wait, can't wait. Saw quite a long trailer at the cinema last night, and my heart doubled it's pace as soon as the music and the first shots of the mountains came on. ohmygodicantwait

Oh man, look how fake! I'm not going to see this amateurish filth! ;)
How did that site get so many pictures of the movie? I haven't even seen a commercial for LOTR:2 yet.
wow, the forums at 'ain't it cool' are pretty ranty!
hey googlo; that's cinema. Don't have to have VFX to use aditionnal lights where's they're not naturally.

Yeah, I think people go critique crazy sometimes, I was just being sarcastic about it after reading some of the posts in the forum at "ain't it cool" dot com. :)

It's been fun watching all the supposed CGI experts on AICN saying how it's obvious that it's a silicon animatronic standing. even after repeated statements by PJ saying that gollum is CG.
whee! :)

Reminds me of a "what 3d software should I use" article on slashdot. People who have no clue often begin to talk loudly and incoherently out of their bungholes.

Nice. I'm hoping to see a whole army of the Ents attack Saruman's castle. That should be very interesting if they don't cut it out.
