View Full Version : cables like in matrix revolutions
revelaciones 09-27-2005, 12:25 PM im having problems im trying to recreate the cables at the end of the matrix revolutions when neo is conected to the matrix, the best way to animate the cables is spline ik, but how can i attach the diferent parts of the cable? the same problem with the sentinels tentacles, how is posible to do that?

I think he's trying to create a cable with lots of vertibrae like the human spine. Right?

right, ye but how you attech all the element to the spline ik, and meke them move correctly

Instead of spline ik, you may wish to use path deform instead. Make your complex wire mesh, then attach it to a spline using the world space modifier version of path deform (make sure to hit the move to path button to move your wire to the path). Then animate the vertex in your path to manipulate the wire.

Only notes is I would use the world space modifier instead of the regular modifier, and replace my chain model with whatever model you want to deform.
