At the middle of 21.century, big crises are rapidly escalated on all continents. The main reasons for those crises were people who didn't be able to save harmony, tolerance and love. They were guided by enormous greed: hunger for money, thirst for oil and destruction of nature. Those were reasons that bring us to the edge...and now...In this battle none was a winner, everyone was a loser...Becouse of our negligence, world was destroyed and started to disappear. That was our end...

Inspiration for this competition "Spectacular" I was found in a book "Inferno" Dante, sculpture "The Gates of Hell" Rodin and picture "The Fall of the rebel angels" Rubens.

Concept in next update.

You could use any century of human history for your consept. There always were people like you describe.

If you like Dante, try James Havok. I guess you can get even more inspiration for your consept from his books. Just don't read it if you are sensitive person.

Actually, I don't wont to make impression that I'm pesimist. I'm optimist!

I would like to here C & C on my sketch.

Your sketch is a little confusing right now. It looks like just a bunch of bodies falling from the sky. Will there be anything else? Perhaps some indication of where the bodies are coming from? What caused their fall? I guess you don't HAVE to show why the bodies are falling. A bunch of bodies falling is actually pretty spectacular in itself. So either way... it's okay.

I'm sure this is gonna be great!

The two guys on the top right corner of the pile of people on the bottom left side of the image look like the are flying upward. I would consider reposing them. Outside of that, this is looking pretty cool!

Hi Andreja,

Your human model looks pretty impressive:thumbsup:

About your scene... i like the idea!
How about to refine the story about your scene a bit. It gives the Image more depth and makes a lot of things easier!... and then you have some kind of "graphic checkpoints" (helpers) to realize your scene.?!

How about this:
The gates from heaven are opening and thousend of angels are falling down into hell!!
You can play with lava and clouds... blue color and red color... the good side and the evil side...

Just an example... you are the boss!!
I hope it helps you a bit.

nevertheless... good work! keep it up dude!
Cheers  Alex

Hi Andreaja,

great modeling, but perhaps a little bit too much muscles. The character seems to me being a body builder who ate to much protein and steroids. Referre to michelangelos sculptures.
I was brought to this comparison by your last concept update. I looks like a old fashioned fresco in an italian church.

Thanks a lot vampeta. I will grab something from your idea! I would'nt like the look to obviously like religion performance, but I will combine your suggestion with some of my idea.

Hm,...Lava and clouds sounds pretty interesting!

Hi Andreaja,

I'm sorry
I made a mistake by translating my post into english language.

I do NOT mean "old fashioned", the meaning is "build in former times"

Mea culpa!

Incredible modeling and posing. No crits except the feet may be a little long and one of the feet in the upper middle of the picture (we are seeing the bottom of it) looks kind of swollen. The toes look too much like sausages when viewed from below. This is very picky I know. Overall, fantastic work and most people wouldn't notice the things I just mentioned!

The last update looks spectacular from "geometry perspective". But I guess it would be a good idea to tweak the lightning.Because alot of details is lost. The geometry doesn't look as good as it can. But I guess it just WIP, so it'snot a big problem.

Hi Andreja, 5 stars for the concept and modeling. Nothing to crit there at all. About the compostition, IMHO, you could try bringing in more colors beside red for some contrast, otherwise red looks all too dominant to me. Just a suggestion...

Michelangelo? Rodin? How bout a little of Henry Moore or Joseph Beuys? I'm kidding,of course, Michelangelo and Rodin are kings for me too. Nothing to say but great work. Wish you luck. Btw, I like your low poly wires very, very much - one of cleverest, I've seen.

I apply this texture on interesting way. It's a very fast procedure. I do that with ZApp Link plug-in for ZBrush.
I used Photoshop, ZBrush for texturing & rendered in Maya.
